In 1953 Russell Gray the owner of Graco Metal and David Saint an engineer, worked together to design a baby swing. It took 18 months of research and testing before the first baby swing was ready for market. The product was oddly called, the Graco Swynomatic.

Over the years, Graco introduced a range of baby products, from Portable Cots to Strollers.

In 1998, Graco acquired Century Car Seats. Later, the Graco company became Newell Rubbermaid™, although their baby products line is still sold under the brand name, Graco.
